With Honesty singer-songwriter Jake Isaac presents us his second album. With his characteristic warm voice the British musician has given the world another great album full of smooth RnB.
It seems like the first lockdown in March 2020 has once again done some good things for music fans. For Jake Isaac it was the right moment to write and finish his second album. The songs on ‘Honesty’ seem influenced by the isolation and the silence that has surrounded him during this time. In several of the songs we hear the themes of missing others and the importance of friendship.
“Honesty, is the most personal album and the start of a new chapter on my way”, the artist tells us about the new record. Looking back on what the British artist has already achieved so far, it´s hard to image what more may come. After 6 EPs and one debut album Jake Isaac has reached international awareness.
A perfect record full of Soul & RnB
Having previously worked with (and for) some of the most excellent artists like Julia Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Duffy, Paloma Faith, Joan as Police Woman and Gabrielle in the last years, we can hear more great artists on his second album. Collaborations with Yuna, Wildwood Kin, Tertia May and India Arie all featured on ‘Honesty`. These great female voices fit perfect to his warm voice and makes every song a bit more special.
I love Wake Up (feat. Wildwood Kin) the voices of the three artists make it to a great morning song. The other favorite song is Gold featuring with Grammy winner India Arie. Jake Isaac can really be proud of himself with this record. The new songs feel soft and fluent from the first to the last note.
Even the single Remember in cooperation with Samm Henshaw and Mumu Fresh shows perfectly the style of the album. It´s a kind of summary of all feelings and thoughts in these times. I love to watch the video with the night flight over the lighted London city.
